Why We Exist

Most Horses Are Trained to Comply. Few Are Trained to Want the Work.

Traditional training teaches a horse to move away from pressure. It works until it doesn't: the horse that tenses at the mounting block, stalls at a level, or looks sound in the stable and stiff under saddle. Months of the same exercises rarely tell you why.

The answer isn't more work — it's reading what the horse's body and brain are telling you, then changing the order you ask.

The Idea

A Horse Cannot Be Afraid and Eager at the Same Time.

That single fact of equine neurology is the foundation of The Sovereign System®. A frightened horse can obey; it cannot learn well. So we settle the nervous system first, ask for the movement second, and let the horse link the right shape with feeling good — then, over a defined 12-week timeline, build the muscle that holds it.

Not a horse that failed on the track: a durable, winning racehorse who finished in the first three more than one start in three, including three wins in 36 days in the summer of 2023. He last raced in January 2026. He arrived with us in April 2026 and remains in rehabilitation (Phase 0).

      Before You Start

      Your Questions. Answered.

      Who Is The Academy For?

      The Restart is for riders retraining ex-racehorses. The Recode is for performance riders working through a plateau. Certified Sovereign Operator is for coaches and professionals studying the complete system. No formal academic qualifications are required. You need regular access to a horse. 12 months of riding or handling experience is recommended.

      What Is The Time Commitment?

      Certified Sovereign Operator includes 38 structured CPD hours across 10 modules and assessment. The Restart has 6 modules and The Recode has 8. Study is online and self-paced. The time you need depends on the written work and the recorded sessions with your own horse.

      How Is The Assessment Delivered?

      The Academy is online-only, with no in-person or supervised practical assessment. Written assessment is completed online. Recorded video submissions are submitted online and human-assessed. For Certified Sovereign Operator, the written assessment contains 40 multiple-choice and 4 short-answer questions. You have 90 minutes. The pass mark is 70%. Certification also requires an unedited 3-minute 5-Gate Pre-Flight video.

      Which Pathway Is CPD Accredited?

      Only Certified Sovereign Operator is CPD accredited by The CPD Certification Service, Certificate No. 75768. The Restart and The Recode do not issue professional certification. CPD certification validates the training content; it is not a claim of guaranteed clinical outcomes.

      What Happens After The Free Read?

      From photos, video and context, Sovereign Eye returns a Sovereign State classification, priority interventions and a starting programme phase. Each read is drafted by AI and approved by a person. Until a person has reviewed it, it shows as 'AI draft, not yet reviewed by a person'. You can then review the Academy pathways before deciding whether to enrol. Enrolment and checkout take place on the Sovereign platform.
